This awesome article on the hostile fauna of Australia (originally linked to by lickystickypickyme) sent me scurrying to the archives (i.e. the drawers where I throw yesteryear’s shit) to find these, bookmarks I made in library school. It was for a “genres” class (e.g. romance, science fiction, Western, etc.) and we each had to give a book talk at some point. I was way into travel writing generally, and Bill Bryson specifically, at the time, and picked In a Sunburned Country for my talk. I curried favor with my audience by handing these out. Sometimes you hand out bookmarks at book talks, what.P.S. Wow, did I not know shit from shit about typography at the time! E.g. thinking it was ever OK to use Microsoft Garamond. E.g. thinking that it was ever OK to create false small caps with Microsoft Garamond in Word.
P.P.S. SHUT UP ASHLEY / You can’t be more annoyed with me for caring about these things than I am with myself.
